After looking about the benefits of keeping an aquarium at home anyone would rush out for their new tank... But this can be a bit messy and cause potential headaches if proper ways are not used.
Let's discuss what you need to keep in your mind while buying a new aquarium.
• Tank size.
• Placement of tank.
• Tank decor.
• Purchasing principles.
• Fishes.
•Tank size.
Don't get any type of Fishbowls, your fish will never survive. Fishbowls are meant for plants only. If you want something small then go for polo tanks.
So the first thing you have to consider is the size of your tank. Think well and keep in mind your home's decor to avoid any space problems.
Tanks are available in small sizes of 36" x 18" x 19" And as big as the wall of your house!
So it's completely dependent on you and your home.
But a small tank doesn't mean you buy a fish pot because there is nothing worst than fish pots, they cause great problems to your fishes and it's hard to say if your fishes will survive in it.
I wish to reduce costs you can even make your own fish tank!!
• Placement of fish tank at your home.
Decide the perfect place for your fish tank before you bringing it in your house. Even if your fish tank is big every fish tank is delicate!
The fish tank should be mainly placed in a corner... Where it will not be disturbed. Though extreme corners should be avoided as the fish tank could be neglected.
Never place it near entrances as it could lead to potential damages.
Arrange a proper table for stable support for your fish tank.
It can also be placed on furniture as shown in the pic
• Tank decor.
Tank decor is one of the most interesting things about the fish tank hobby!
Fish tank decor is available from simple silicon plants to beautiful real-life plants.
If not satisfied with the decors available at pet shops you can visit sites like Amazon.in where you can find some rare decor elements.
• Purchasing principles.

Check the quality of glass or acrylic they are using for your aquarium. Check for any damages to the tank while bringing it to your home.
• Fishes.
After you bring in your fish tank you would think of stocking it with fishes... But wait!!!
New aquariums will not sustain your fishes and fishes would die in few days. This is a natural phenomenon. So what you have to do is "Cycle your tank".
To cycle your tank- Don't buy fishes the day you buy your tank.
Bring home your tank and set it up as you want it.
Fill it with water.
And leave it undisturbed for 5 days. Then empty the tank on the 6th day and put it in freshwater.
And now you can bring in your new fishes!!
So this was how you avoid potential headaches while and after buying a new aquarium/ fish tank.
Hope you enjoyed it and this article helped you out.
