Keeping Angel Fishes.- The right way 2021. Are angelfish hard to keep?

 Hello there!

Angelfish- one of the most spectacular fish and my personal favorite. Keeping angels is one of the most fun ways to enjoy the aquarium hobby. Watching them gracefully swimming through the tank...is such a mesmerizing experience.

And the good news is that Angels are not that fragile they look like and are a really great choice for beginners looking for giving the tank an aesthetic look. So here we bring- Angelfish keeping guide 2021.

The Tank.

So giving a good tank to your angels is important, because their growth is dependent on that. Go for a taller tank with lots of free space to swim. Also, I suggest tanks with more volume. With angelfishes; bigger is your tank, bigger your angel grow. The decor should include broadleaf plants and few floating plants. Remember not to keep decor with sharp edges so as not to damage their delicate fins.

Water.

Once you get the water parameters right, Angelfish will need very little maintenance and care. It's all about getting the right parameters and maintaining them.

The water flow in the tank should be gentle. Water temperature should be Warm ranging from 26 to 30 degrees Celcius. The pH between 6-8. Proper filtration system with weekly 40% water change. Remember not to perform big water changes too frequently because angelfish are very delicate towards sudden water changes.

Tankmates.

Now angels appear peaceful but are also somewhat territorial fishes and can get really serious about it. So choosing tankmates for angels is somewhat harder. Personally, I prefer Angels with more Angels! Just with different colors and strains together.

Angels will sometimes readily eat smaller fishes in the tank. So if wish to keep small varieties like tetras or guppies, bring baby angels and add them together. Being with them from childhood, angels will see them as tank mates and not as food. Also, be cautious when adding new fishes into the tank. The new ones may be seen as food, and if the new ones are angels then territorial fights may start.

Always plan the tank mates and add all the fishes together. Sometimes they will also fight between themselves to spawn or to pair up. Also, angels should be kept in pairs because they always live in pairs of two.

Feeding.

Angels are omnivores but have to like towards carnivore diet. So normal food pellets are good. Feed them blood worms on alternate days and occasionally live foods, if available.
